The Miami Children’s Theater Conservatory, formed in 1996, is a professional theater- training program for young people between the ages of 6 and 19. Young artists from throughout the Miami-Dade area come to develop their creative talent and to grow as budding actors.
We offer dynamic courses for the beginner exploring acting for the first time as well as advanced-level study for young actors with previous experience. Classes are designed to develop imagination, concentration, character, professionalism, and technique, and to strengthen the student’s command of his/her body and voice.
Our faculty comprises working theater professionals who are particularly skilled in working with young actors. In addition to a full complement of studio classes offered year round, The Miami Children’s Theater provides students the chance to apply their skills in our professional stage productions.

Music by Steven Schwartz, book by John Michael Tebelack – Godspell, Jr is based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew, and featuring a sparkling score, Godspell, Jr. boasts a string of well-loved songs, led by the international hit, “Day By Day.” As the cast performs “Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord,” “Learn Your Lessons Well,” “All For The Best,” “All Good Gifts,” “Turn Back, O Man” and “By My Side,” the parables of Jesus Christ come humanly and hearteningly to life. Drawing from various theatrical traditions, such as clowning, pantomime, charades, acrobatics and vaudeville, GODSPELL JR. is a unique reflection on the life of Jesus, with a message of kindness, tolerance and love. MCT is going all out on this show with Chrsitine Vega directing and Tara Allen choreographing. MCT is currently making plans to travel this show – stay tuned for venues and dates.

Willy Wonka Kids
Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to life in this special 45-minute stage adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which features the songs from the classic family film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Willie Wonka Kids is MCT Kids first production of the year. What is MCT Kids? It’s Miami Childrens Theater’s division for actors 5 through 12 whose main purpose is to give our youngest actors a chance to gain experience and shine on stage. As opposed to our other main stage productions, everyone who auditions will be cast. If there is a large turnout we will double cast the roles and potentially, create two casts. The ultimate goal of MCT Kids is to give as many children as possible a chance to perform. The format for MCT Kids is: audition first, sign up for the class at the first rehearsal.
