The Miami Children’s Theater Conservatory, formed in 1996, is a professional theater- training program for young people between the ages of 6 and 19. Young artists from throughout the Miami-Dade area come to develop their creative talent and to grow as budding actors.
We offer dynamic courses for the beginner exploring acting for the first time as well as advanced-level study for young actors with previous experience. Classes are designed to develop imagination, concentration, character, professionalism, and technique, and to strengthen the student’s command of his/her body and voice.
Our faculty comprises working theater professionals who are particularly skilled in working with young actors. In addition to a full complement of studio classes offered year round, The Miami Children’s Theater provides students the chance to apply their skills in our professional stage productions.

Once On This Island, Jr.
Premieres Friday, October 12 at 7pm
With its poignant story and catchy Caribbean flavored score, Once On This Island, Jr. is a feast for the heart, mind, and soul. The highly original and theatrical Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale The Little Mermaid garnered eight Tony nominations for its Broadway run, including Best Musical, Book and Score.
In almost non-stop song and dance, the show tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death. Violet: The Musical

Set in 1964 in the Deep South during the early days of the Civil Rights Movement, Violet follows the growth and enlightenment of a bitter young woman accidentally scarred by her father. In hopes that a TV evangelist can cure her, she embarks on a journey by bus from her sleepy North Carolina town to Oklahoma. Along the way, she meets a young black soldier who teaches her about beauty, love, courage and what it means to be an outsider. One of the most acclaimed off-Broadway shows of the ’90s, Violet astounded critics and audiences with its powerful story, its energetic, toe-tapping Gospel, Rock, Country, and Rhythm and Blues score by Jeanine Tesori, and its well-crafted book and lyrics by Brian Crawley that are not afraid to deal with important, sensitive issues. Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr.
Premieres Friday, December 14 at 8pm
In a magical kingdom fathoms below, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince Prince Eric that she’s the girl with the enchanting voice.
Adapted from Disney’s 2008 Broadway production, Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr. features the hit songs "Part of Your World," "She’s in Love," and the Oscar-winning "Under the Sea." For tickets and information call 305.271.9000 x 400.

Gypsy: The Musical

Gypsy is loosely based on the 1957 memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, the famous striptease artist, and focuses on her mother, Rose, whose name has become synonymous with "the ultimate show business mother." It follows the dreams and efforts of Rose to raise two daughters to perform onstage and casts an affectionate eye on the hardships of show business life. The character of Louise is based on Lee, and the character of June is based on Lee's sister, the actress June Havoc.
The musical contains many songs that became popular standards, including "Small World," "Everything's Coming up Roses," "Some People," "Let Me Entertain You," "All I Need Is the Girl," and "Rose's Turn." It is frequently considered one of the crowning achievements of the mid-20th century's conventional musical theater art form, often called the "book musical." Legally Blonde: The Musical

Sorority star Elle Woods doesn't take "no" for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone "serious," Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

In The Heights
Premiers Friday, May 24 at 7pm
The fast-paced story of the musical In the Heights revolves on the lives of characters from Washington Heights, which is a Dominican-American neighborhood in New York City. The engaging musical score features hip hop, salsa, soul music and merengue, which are guaranteed to keep the audiences’ hearts pumping along with the electrifying action being presented onstage. Those who want to see something different in the way a musical is presented and performed should definitely grab all of the In the Heights Musical tickets they could possibly get their hands on, to experience the thrilling performances that critics and fans alike are raving about.
